My name is Mrs. Sarah Coupe and I will be your child’s 3rd grade Math teacher!
I am starting my 19th year here at MES. I am so excited to start the new school year with both you and your child. We will learn lots of new things in math this year. I will do all I can to make this year a great learning experience!
This year your child will learn multiplication. It is very important that you help your child study his/her multiplication facts throughout the school year. We will NOT have a set homework schedule in math. I will be communicating with you throughout the year in your child’s planner. When we are getting ready for a test or anything else, that information will be in the planner. Most importantly, I will treat your child as he/she is my own!
I am always here to help your child succeed and be happy at school!!
I LOOK FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR!!
Welcome to 3rd GRADE!
Hello! My name is Ms. Kayla Marcum and I am so excited to be your Reading and Language Arts teacher this year! We are going to have a lot of fun in 3rd Grade. This school year is going to be very exciting and busy as we learn and grow together.
This is my 5th year teaching and my first year teaching 3rd Grade Reading and Language Arts. We are going to spend a lot time strengthening our reading skills this year. We will have homework each week with our story. I will send home a sheet every Monday with all homework requirements, spelling words, vocabulary, and skills we are learning for the week. Also, you will be required to have 5 Accelerated Reader points each week for a grade. You must read one book a night for homework to help reach your 5-point goal for the week.
This year is going to be an adventure.
I hope you are just as excited as I am to begin the school year.
Ms. Kayla Marcum

Hello Parents and Guardians,
I am Jeanne Mullins and I will be teaching third grade Science and Social Studies!
I am looking forward to teaching and working with your child this school year. I hope that this letter will be informative and answer some of your questions. I would like to thank you for your support and help to make this a great school year for your child.
It is very important that your child is at school every day and on time. The instruction that your child misses cannot be duplicated. After an absence, please make sure your child returns to school with a doctor’s statement/note. Most school work will be graded, therefore it cannot be sent home when absent but will have to be completed at school.
Your child will be receiving study guides for Science and Social Studies.
It is your child’s responsibility to keep up with these study guides, to bring them to class daily and to study them as they are completed and not wait until the night before the test. Your child will have projects to complete at different times during the school year.
Graded papers will be sent home weekly, on Mondays, sign the top page and return them to school with your child the following day (Tuesday).
Your child will be pulling sticks in my classroom; your child will be given several warnings before a stick is pulled (One stick=5 minutes of P. E. lost, etc.). If there’s a major issue with your child’s behavior, a note or a minor report will be sent home. Dojo points will also be given for good behavior. Dojo points are added to their PBIS tickets to get the PBIS rewards on Fun Fridays, end of nine weeks parties, and various treats depending on the classroom.
