Dear Parents and Students,
I am excited to welcome you back to Middleton Elementary’s PACE classroom.
My name is Joy Bridges. I am married to Keith and we have a daughter, Tayah who attends Middleton High School. I love spending time with them, along with my pet dog, Cletus!
We have many fun and educational activities planned for the 2019-2020 school year. In my classroom, we focus on academics, social-emotional skills, communication skills and self-help skills.
I hope you all have had a fun and relaxing summer and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
WELCOME TO MIDDLETON ELEMENTARY AND A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
My name is Sharon Bishop. I graduated from the University of Memphis and this is my 30th year to teach in Hardeman County. I am married to Randy Bishop. He retired from teaching at Middleton High School and is now teaching for the North Tippah school district in Mississippi.
I have 2 children, Jay and Ben, who both graduated from the University of Memphis at Lambuth. Ben is married and working toward another degree at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
In order for your child to do as well as he or she can, I ask that you work with me and tell me about what is going on with your child at home. I also ask that you answer the following questions:
Does your child take naps during the day?
Can you think of anything we could teach your child that would help you at home?
Is there anything you feel I need to know about your child?
Do you have any suggestions?
The students in our classroom range from ages 3-5. We work on numerous skills in our classroom and place particular focus on communication. Other areas include cognition, self-help, fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, and pre-vocational. We engage in many activities inside and outside of the classroom. Our students attend music, library, lunch, and an occasional recess with the Pre-K class.
I will send a notebook home the first day of school that we will use to communicate throughout the year. Details about your child’s day will be written in the notebook. Please read, sign, and feel free to write comments back to us each day.
I hope we can work together to make this a great year for your child!
KEEP IN TOUCH!
Hi, my name is Susie Kessler. I am the PreK teacher at Middleton Elementary. This is my 25th year of teaching, with the last 12 being in PreK. I am lucky enough to get to be a child’s first “introduction” to school, and always strive to make it a positive and memorable one! PreK is not mandatory so I appreciate everyone who “chose” to put their child in my class. I look forward to the new school year and all the exciting things we will learn.
